Welcome to Oakham Team Ministry

The Oakham Team Ministry is part of the Diocese of Peterborough within the Church of England, and is situated in the north-west corner of the ancient county of Rutland, close to the picturesque Rutland Water, and approximately 30 miles from the cities of Leicester and Peterborough to the west and east respectively.

The Team includes Oakham, the county town of Rutland, and nine surrounding villages – Whissendine, Teigh, Ashwell & Market Overton in the north, and Langham, Braunston, Brooke, Hambleton & Egleton in the south.

We hope you find what you are looking for here, whether you are a visitor or a member of one of the Team churches.

If you have further questions please go to the Who’s Who section to get in touch. We will be delighted to talk to you.

Coronavirus Update

On 24th March the Archbishops and Bishops of the Church of England issued these instructions:

1. Our church buildings are closed for public worship and for private prayer.

2. Emergency baptisms can take place in hospital or at home.

3. There can be no weddings in church buildings until further notice.

4. Funerals can only happen at the Crematorium or at the graveside. Only immediate family members can attend.

5. Live streaming of services is more important than ever and is still permissible from homes. We encourage us all to consider how we can be as creative as possible with streaming services and other resources.

We can provide special booklets for prayer and worship for use at home (available to download here). These booklets contain links to other resources.

Please join us on Facebook on Sundays at 10.30am and Monday to Saturday at 8.30am. There are regular posts throughout the week. The services are also available afterwards here.

Please check the website for updates. Full contact lists can be found in the pewsheet (available on request) and on the website.

The Archbishops and Bishops encourage us to be ‘hopeful and rooted in the offering of prayer and praise and overflowing in service to the world.’

May we each in our own way respond to that call.

From the Oakham Team Clergy
