Services and Activties for Young People

We have a wide provision of services and activities for young people in the Oakham Team, for all ages. For more information, follow the links to individual pages where available.

During the Week

Pram & Toddler Service

For the very youngest, the Pram & Toddler Service at Oakham (Mondays at 2pm during term-time) is specially designed for pre-school children with their parents or carers. Bible stories, song, prayer and activities are followed by an opportunity for a chat over some coffee or tea while the children get a chance to play.

Tiny Tots

Also for children aged 0 to 4 and their parents or carers, Tiny Tots at Oakham (Thursdays at 9:45am during term-time) provides a time for play, craft, stories and songs.

Little Angels

Little Angels, also for pre-school children, meets at Market Overton (Thursdays at 10:30am during term-time)

Mainly Sunday Mornings

Sunday School

Children aged 4 to 11 are catered for the Sunday School at Oakham (Sundays at 10:30am), which meets at the same time as the morning service, joining the main congregation towards the end of the service. During the monthly Family Services on the 3rd Sunday of the month, the children join the main service throughout.

Fishes Club

The Fishes Club at Whissendine (Sundays at 11:00am) also caters for children aged 4 to 11, and again meets at the same time as the morning service, joining the main congregation towards the end of the service. During the monthly Family Services on the 2nd Sunday, the children join the main service throughout.

ASH (All Saints Hub)

Young people graduating from the Sunday School at Oakham have formed the basis for ASH (All Saints Hub), for those aged 12 to 14. This group also meets during the Sunday morning service time at Oakham, usually about once a month, giving the young people an opportunity to explore matters of faith and fellowship, and often have other activities during the week as well.

ASK (All Saints Kids)

Those young people previously of the ASH age group now form a separate group (ages 14 to 17), known as ASK (All Saints Kids), and they also meet during the Sunday morning service time at Oakham, usually about once a month, giving the young people an opportunity to explore matters of faith and fellowship at a higher level.

Family & All-age Services

Family Services

Morning Family Services, which are accessible to all age groups take place across the Team – on the Second Sunday of the month at Whissendine (11am), on the Third Sunday at Oakham (10:30am), Market Overton (9am) & Ashwell (11am).

The Third Sunday Service at Oakham alternates between a Family Communion (odd months), and a non-eucharistic Family Service (even months), often including Baptism.

Church@4

Church@4 is a more informal service for the whole family, and takes place at 4pm on the Third Sunday at Langham..
